Supernova’s site needed to be redesigned with a refreshed look and condensed UI for a more user friendly experience.
Users attending the festival are predominantly mobile as Supernova is an outside festival with multiple locations around Denver. Condensing the user experience of the site to prioritize a friendly mobile experience would increase the level of satisfaction for the festival attendees using the site while on the move.
A refreshed look for the website that was user friendly as Supernova approached its third-year.

Supernova is Denver's first outdoor festival of digital art and animation showcasing international digital creatives. As the UI/UX designer for the redesign of the Supernova site, my scope included creation of the site map, design of user interface, and reduction of redundancies for a more user-friendly experience.
Prioritize mobility
Information and site legibility designed for access of information while on the move.
Refresh and condense
Aesthetics had to be updated to accompany the talented visual artists of this year, while information hierarchy aimed to reduce redundancies.
The UI kit was broken down into two parts: the design system and components. It was important to design each component independently of one another so that building the site in HTML would be extremely modular.
Type and Color
By breaking the UI kit down by components, it made it easy to create the mockups. During the festival, the users would be using the website on their mobile device to navigate the schedule, so it was imperative to have a mobile first design. For the mockups, I chose to go big and bold with the UI to reflect the large scale led screens used to present the video content.
Mid-Fidelity Design
The working prototype was built using HTML, SCSS, Javascript and Gulp.
